About Us

Hours of Worship

First Baptist Church of Cordova is a community church in a small town located on the Mississippi River. We have a passion for sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the world. All are welcome to join us for Sunday morning and midweek services.

We are a local church with denominational ties to the American Baptist Churches of the USA. Regionally, we are a member church of the American Baptist Churches of the Great Rivers Region.

Our Beliefs

  • We believe in the Triune God (God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
  • We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and is the Savior of the world.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit was sent by God to be our advocate and helper.
  • We believe that there are Two Biblical Ordinances:
    1. Holy communion which is open to all who profess their faith in Jesus Christ; and
    2. Baptism upon profession of faith.
  • We believe that as learners and followers of Christ, we have been commissioned to spread the Gospel message by serving one another. We engage in local, national, and global mission to meet the needs of God’s people.
  • We believe the Holy Scriptures are the inerrant Word of God by which we live. They serve as the foundation for our core values.
